Sixth Form
The Sixth Form follows the National Curriculum, modified to meet individual student needs. There is a strong focus on the development of communication and social skills across the entire curriculum, alongside the many relevant aspects of citizenship. National developments in the curriculum for the 14 to 19 age group are acknowledged and accommodated within our Sixth Form programmes.
Sixth Form students are taught in small classes, grouped broadly by ability. We cater for a wide range of special needs, from young people with complex needs who are at a pre-verbal stage of development, through to students who can access a more academic curriculum. The classes are staffed with a teacher, a learning support assistant and a team of support staff, the number depending on the level and type of support required by the students.
