June Davies, Chair of Governors

June Davies Following an early period in the Civil Service, June has enjoyed a long career in the field of education as an Ofsted and Adult Learning inspector, as a College Deputy Principal and as a practitioner. Since 2001, June has also been working as an educational consultant, specialising in the areas of management, quality assurance and curriculum for a wide range of educational providers and government-funded organisations and she's also an NCYPE trustee.

Anna Walker CB, Chair of the NCYPE’s Board of Trustees

Anna WalkerAnna is the Chair of the NCYPE’s Board of Trustees and ex officio a Governor of St Piers School and the NCYPE Further Education College. She is the former Chief Executive of health watchdog the Healthcare Commission (now part of the Care Quality Commission).

As well as her post at the Healthcare Commission, Anna has also undertaken various senior government roles including Deputy Director at the Office of Telecommunications (OFTEL) during the mid-1990s and Director General at the Department for Trade and Industry, responsible for the Government’s energy policy during the late 1990s. She has also had responsibility for land use and rural affairs at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and is currently the Chair of the Office of the Rail Regulator and a member of the board of Consumer Focus.

Angela Dobbs - FE Staff Governor

Angela DobbsAngela has seven years experience teaching art and ceramics, including five years in mainstream secondary education. Prior to working in education, she worked as Creative Director in a small marketing company, gaining experience of commercial creative arts. Angela worked for five years as a freelance artist and illustrator and gave five exhibitions of work between 1984 and 1989.

She joined NCYPE in April 2005, working as a Student Support Worker and took over the position of SEN Teacher of Creative Arts in September 2005.

Caroline Greenman - Care Staff Governor

Caroline GreenmamCaroline Greenman is the Care Representative on the Board of Governors.

She has worked at NCYPE since 1988, always in care, but in a variety of positions, including nights which she did after the birth of her son.

Caroline is currently the Registered Manager of Cory House.

Zoe Greenfield - Governor

Zoe GreenfieldZoe is a member of the local community, married with 3 children. A graduate of Edinburgh and Leeds Universities, she is a consultant clinical psychologist and has worked in the NHS for over 14 years, mainly within physical health settings. She is experienced in taking a biopsychosocial approach to understanding individual need and diversity.

Zoe hopes to particularly be able to use her skills to understand how learners are individually supported and guided at the college and how their needs are met beyond education.

Kim Deville - Parent Governor

Kim DevilleKim's son has been a student at the NCYPE for nine years and he is currently at the FE College. She works part-time coaching young children in gymnastics. She has always taken a keen interest in the developments at the NCYPE and has actively supported fundraising events whenever possible.

Michael Plant - Governor

Michael PlantMike spent most of his career in the foreign exchange markets, both in New York and London. He left his last post in the City as Chief Executive of Spot Foreign Exchange for ICAP plc. He was also a member of the Bank of England Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee.

More recently, he set up Broadham Care Ltd to develop and operate Learning Disability homes in the South East, bringing new quality standards to the learning disability sector.

Kevan Hodges - Governor

Kevan HodgesKevan Hodges currently works for London 2012, LOCOG, as the Senior Manager responsible for catering, cleaning and waste operations across the Olympic Park. Prior to this he was Managing Director of Lingfield Park Racecourse and ALC. His work involved directing both operational and strategic plans for the racecourses, overseeing the £30m development of the first franchise Marriott Hotel & Country Club in the UK at Lingfield Park, and leading the strategic elements of the catering and hospitality departments. His background prior to this was in the retail, leisure and hospitality industry.

Kevan has shown a strong interest in the work of the NCYPE, and was instrumental in Lingfield Park Racecourse’s adoption of NCYPE as its charity.
